We estimated here the relative mRNA expression of BRCA1 NBR1 NBR2 genes on a panel of cell cultures derived from human breast cancer or normal mammary tissue, BRCA1 was significantly downregulated in 11 out of 12 examined tumor cell lines as compared tonon-malignant mammary cells. The two isoforms of NBR1 were also found to be downregulated in malignant breast cells and the expression of NBR2 was increased in three permanent tumor cell lines and slightly decreased in all primary breast cancer cells.
