The role of boar sperm surface proteins in saccharide-mediated events in the female reproductive tract

  • Original language description

On formation of the sperm oviductal reservoir, lectin-like interactions play role. Attachment of sperm to the oviduct and the release of sperm are probably involved in the following: (i) glycosylated molecules in the oviductal epithelium and fluid; and (ii) proteins adsorbed to the sperm surface. Proteins with high mannan-binding activity (AQN and AWN spermadhesins and DQH protein) interacted with oviductal cells and fluid strongly. These interactions were inhibited by mannan, mucins from submaxillary glands, fetuin and hyaluronic acid. The ability of hyaluronic acid to inhibit the interaction of sperm with oviductal epithelium may play an important role in the sperm release from the oviductal reservoir and in capacitation

Úloha povrchových proteinů kančích spermií v dějích zprostředkovaných sacharidy v samčím reprodukčním traktu

  • Czech description

Proteiny s vysokou schopností vázat manan (spermadheziny AQN a AWN a protein DQH) reagovaly s buňkami a tekutinou vejcovodu silně. Tyto interakce byly potlačeny mananem, muciny z podčelistních žláz, fetuinem a hyaluronovou kyselinou.
