    In optical industry there are used for testing of various optical elements, e.g. mirrors, prisms, lenses, different testing methods. The work deals with a modern method for an automatic testing of optical elements in optical production. The described method is based on the evaluation of the phase of the object wave field using the gradient of this field. Our article describes an application of such method for an automatic evaluation of the wavefront deformation with Matlab
