Being found in 1707, Czech Technical University belongs among the oldest technical universities in the world. Faculty of Civil Engineering is its largest part with more than 6 000 students and 500 teachers and researchers. Research activities of the faculty cover all areas of civil engineering ? building structures, transportation structures, materials, testing, hydraulic engineering, geotechnical engineering etc. Centre for Effective and Sustainable Transport Infrastructure (CESTI) is a project joiningthe faculty with another main players in transportation engineering cluster. It is focused on technical innovations in today?s transport infrastructure. It deals with road and railway transport network including bridges and tunnels.
