Modern architecture is heading towards a complete transparency and glass is commonly used as a material for load-bearing components. Connections of glass components have to bear all the stresses occurring during the lifetime period and meet high aesthetical standards at the same time. Generally, there are many possibilities of glass components connecting. Laminated connection combines mechanical and adhesive fixing systems. It consists of a steel element fixed to a glass component by an adhesive interlayer. However, glass fixing systems are still developing and their design procedure is mostly based on experiments.
