    Particle Suspension with Pitched Three-Blade Turbine

    This paper deals with particle suspension in agitated vessels. Experiments were carried out with pitched three-blade turbines with various pitch angles (24°, 35° and 45°) in cylindrical vessel with dished bottom for mean volumetric concentrations of solid phase in the range from 2,5 % to 15 %. Results of suspension measurements were evaluated in the form of dimensionless suspension characteristics. The coefficients in correlation of suspension characteristic depend on mean volumetric concentrations of solid phase. These dependencies and correlation of suspension characteristics are presented in full text of this contribution. On this basis the final correlation for computation of just-suspended impeller speed in large range of concentration and diameter of particles was proposed. Suspension efficiency of impellers used in experiments is compared in the final part of this paper. Suspension efficiency was expressed by means of dimensionless power consumption necessary for suspension of .
