Flow Measurements in an Elbow Pipe of Circular Cross Section
Original language description
Results of experiments on secondary flow in curved pipe of circular cross-section are presented. The experiments have been carried out using a 5-hole pressure probe. Comparison of the case of low-turbulent top-hat profile elbow inflow and fully developedturbulent channel inflow has been made. Three cross-sections within the channel were explored in details. Static and dynamic pressures distributions as well as this of mean velocity vectors have been measured for both cases with special interest on theformation of two conta rotating vortices of the secondary flow and the energy losses influenced by the vortices were studied and evaluated in details.
