    The paper documents testing of the sport yacht's rudder shafts made from carbon fiber / epoxy resin composite by CompoTech PLUS s.r.o. company. The design of the rudder and bending test are described. Several tests were done by staff of Czech Technical University of Prague at laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Strength and Elasticity of Materials, in 2002 and 2003. The rudders specimens were of the same shape but different technology of manufacturing and the tests were done to confirm the design procedure and calculations of bending strength of rudder shaft according to standards of A.B.S. (American Bureau of Shipping) guide - SECTION 9: Rudders, Rudder Supports, and Keels.
