Frequency Based Autotuning Tested on a Laboratory Set-Up in Compariosn with Other Setting Techniques
Original language description
For the PID controllers representing the most popular group of controllers in practice, lots of theoretical techniques and procedures have been developed with the aim to optimize function of control circuits., However, their real application is seldom, except the cases when some extreme requirements on safety and operational quality of designed control loops are posed. Even autotuning of controllers offered by some producers for a quite long time is not exploited as it could be. There are more reasons for this unsatisfactory situation, but one of them is necessity to master difficult theoretical background often requiring perfect models of controlled process dynamics. In the paper, using a laboratory set-up both in model and physical representation, wewould like to discuss some of these reasons in a confrontation with the new idea of performing controller autotuning without knowledge of the controlled plant model.
