In the Department of Fluid Dynamics and Power Engineering, a large research project is solved as a part of general EU effort in searching alternative more ecological energy re-sources. Within the project, combustion process investigations in pilot biomass fired boilers are carried out. Necessary control system development solves a research group from the Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering represented by authors of the pa-per. Works are done on newly developed cooling circuit and replacement of the single pur-pose control automat delivered with a small-scale biomass fired boiler by its producer.
