Simulation and Experimental Implementation of an Active Controlled Two-Axle Railway Bogie
Original language description
The article deals with 2 axle railway bogie with an active wheelset guidance. Actuated steering mechanism is proposed. A multi-body dynamics software SIMPACK is used to generate a detailed non-linear bogie model while controller is designed upon simplified linear model and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink. The complete mechatronic system is modeled using the SIMPACK-MATLAB/Simulink interface. Computer simulations are used to demonstrate wide range of possibilities to influence basic bogie dynamics and reachvery high speed stability without yaw dampers. The concept has been implemented practically on a 1:3,5 scaled bogie model. The bogie model and roller rig design are described and first experimental results are presented and discussed.
