Railway Bogie with Active Wheelset Guidance - Computer Simulations and Roller Rig Tests
Original language description
The article deals with 2 axle railway bogie with active wheelset guidance. The main goal is to build computer simulation model capable to assess different control strategies and controller designs for wheelets yaw actuation and propose roller rig designchanges to verify and demonstrate computer simulations results in straight, curved and transition track. The actuated wheelsets steering mechanism was proposed. A multi-body dynamics software SIMPACK is used to generate a detailed non-linear bogie modelwhile controller is designed upon simplified linear model and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink. The complete mechatronic system is modelled using the SIMPACK-MATLAB/Simulink co-simulation. The active wheelset steering concept has been implemented practicallyon a 1:3.5 scaled bogie model. The bogie model, roller rig design and approach to curve and transition track simulations on the roller rig are described. Sample results of computer simulations and roller rig experiments are shown.
