Original language description
Within this paper, the testing of a resistive strain gauges and fiber optic strain sensors for measuring large elastic-plastic strains is described. Steel specimens of tubular shape were equipped with both strain gauge and Fiber Bragg Grating optic sensor. They were cyclically loaded in a force loading mode and appropriate strain readings were recorded from sensors. Sensor characteristics were than compared on the basis of measured strain ranges.
