Original language description
*This paper presents the results of development and application of algebraic models describing behaviour of different components in internal combustion engine. Developed models were implemented in Design Assistance System (DASY) as separate blocks (one block per component). This approach allows description of different engine structures using the same set of components interconnected in different ways. Any parameter of any engine component can be unknown without the need to redefine algebraic models. This creates a wide area for preliminary analysis and optimization. Appropriate numerical solver and optimization algorithms were implemented and used to support this level of flexibility.
