Squeezing Flow of Collagen Solution – Effect of Irradiation on Rheological and electrical properties
Original language description
Squeezing flow is a quasi-static compression flow of tested material between two approaching plates. From relationship between the normal force acting on a moving plate, thickness of the gap between both plates and velocity of moving plate, the rheological properties can be evaluated. This contribution deals with measurements the squeezing flow of collagen solution (water solution of bovine skin collagen) irradiated with various doses of electron beam radiation to perform cross-linking in collagen solution. Together with squeezing flow experiment a measurement of specific electrical conductivity of the collagen sample was carried out. General aim of our research was to identify the influence of electron beam radiation dose (the degree of cross-linking in collagen structure) on rheological parameters and electrical conductivity of collagen sample.
