Software for active wheelset steering system
Original language description
The software aims to 4-axle railway vehicle with active controlled wheelset steering mechanism. It assumes that each wheelset in both bogies is equipped with an actuator that steers the wheelset in the yaw direction with respect to the bogie frame. The software calculates the actual track curvature at the vehicle position. Based on the track curvature the required positions of each wheelset are calculated in order to reduce guiding forces in wheel-rail contacts. The software inputs are signals of sensors placed on a vehicle. The outputs are required positions of wheelset steering actuators. The software is built as a scheme in Matlab Simulink software. It is capable to be used in conjunction with virtual simulation model of a vehicle or it can be implemented in real-time applications and used on a vehicle as an algorithm of wheelset steering controller.
