Linear electric motor in active suspension system
Original language description
The objective of this contribution is a new approach to active suspension system, where linear electric motor has been used as an actuator. Linear motor has several important advantages. The main one is that linear motor can work, in generally, in generator mode and thus can produce electrical energy for next use. In this paper the linear motor is used in active mode only and then the energy demands are observed and optimized by H-infinity theory. The main problem in such control is robustness, becausethe vehicle parameters vary in wide range in real car. From this point of view, the H? theory is suitable. All these aspect of control are taken into account and H? controller satisfying mentioned criteria has been designed. A result has been compared with conventional passive suspension and it can be concluded, that designed controller satisfies robustness requirements, because H-infinity theory itself guarantee robustness.
