H-Infinity Control for Semi-Active Suspension in Heavy Car
Original language description
Automotive suspension system is designed to improve dynamic properties of the car. The most important properties which could be affected by suspension are passenger comfort and car handling including road friendliness. In this paper, the semi-active suspension driven by an H-infinity controller is described. Semi-active suspension stands out above other systems from the point of view of energy consumption, which is very low. The natural disadvantage of the semi-active suspension is the impossibility toproduce energy. An H-infinity theory has been chosen to develop suspension controller. Unfortunately, this pure linear theory has to be applied to a non-linear actuator (semi-active damper). Therefore some additional steps have to be done. It implies from results that semi-active suspension system used in a heavy car can significantly improve the car behavior.
