    Statcom with Active Power Storage: Wind Power Park Compensation

  • Original language description

    This paper describes the model of Statcom with active power storage. The model is used for active and reactive power compensation of offshore wind park. The wind park is connected to the grid through marine cables. High capacity of the cable causes unbalance of reactive power at the place of wind park connection. To reach the balance in active power between energy production and load energy storage is necessary. The variable energy production from wind power plant requests to use active synchronous compensator for active and reactive power balance. To reach it Statcom with active power storage is used. Simulation results validate that integration of Statcom with active power storage is suited for active and reactive power compensation of offshore windpower parks.
