Virtual Sensors for Machine Condition Monitoring
Original language description
This paper gives an overview of principles and ideas in virtual sensors used for machine condition monitoring. Virtual sensors (inferential or soft sensors) are prospective replacement for physical sensors in various situations: physical sensor is expensive to buy, install or maintain, no room for sensor placement or measured quantity is unavailable for sensing. Discussion includes model driven, data driven and hybrid paradigms.
