Virtual sensors for HVAC condition monitoring

  • Original language description

The paper discusses applications of virtual sensors as tools for condition monitoring of HVAC equipment in buildings. Virtual sensors (sometimes called as inferential or soft sensors) can serve as replacement for physical sensors in advanced HVAC FDD systems, where additional physical sensors are expensive to buy, install and maintain. Typical physically non-sensed variables are analyzed and their virtual sensing for condition monitoring purposes is discussed.
