Emergency Landing Site Location Using Aerial Image Segmentation
Original language description
This paper is focused on the aerial image segmentation for the emergency landing purposes. The goal of the described method is to segment the whole given image into homogeneous regions. This paper is split into two parts, the first one describes the algorithm for a determination of classes number and the second one describes the image segmentation method. The segmentation is based on the Expectation-Maximization algorithm for the Mixture of Gaussians with the feature vector containing pixel color and position and texture of pixel neighborhood.
