Condenser Microphone with Segmented Fixed Electrode
Original language description
This paper studies the effect of the direction of an incoming acoustic wave on the shape of the diaphragm deflection of a condenser microphone with a segmented fixed electrode. First, a numerical model is created using COMSOL Multiphysics software. The numerical model is used to calculate the mean deflection of the microphone diaphragm above each segment of the fixed electrode, which is then used to determine the direction of the incoming wave as a difference between the mean diaphragm deflections above opposing segments of the fixed electrode. Next, this paper describes the design, assembly and programming of a measuring apparatus used for measuring polar patterns and presents the results of several measurements of an experimental transducer.
