Original language description
The 2024 Conference on the History of Science and Technology (HVT) will follow up on its successful first edition held at the FEE CTU in Prague last year (Intermittent Self-Sufficiency in Historical Perspectives). This year's conference will focus on the current topic of perceptions of historical approaches to technical creativity and innovation from the 19th to the 21st century. The aim is to provide a platform for scholars from historical and engineering, or related, disciplines to discuss and share their insights and views on how technical creativity and innovation have evolved over time in context and how they have influenced society and technological progress. The following key areas will be studied and discussed. Technical Creativity. Impact on Society. A deeper study of repetitive themes from a long-term historical, technical, and societal perspective can provide sufficient background for the analysis of contemporary technical issues and problems. The conference will provide an opportunity for participants to form future research networks for the exchange of ideas and scholarly collaboration in the field of technical creativity and innovation. The conference will provide new perspectives and understanding of the importance of technical creativity and innovation in a historical context from the 19th century to the present.
