On Symmetry of Periodic Freight Train Paths in Network
Original language description
This paper deals with implementation of requirement of unified symmetry axis, which is a basic condition for Integrated Periodic Timetable (IPT) in passenger railway, into the author?s concept of network-bound periodic freight train paths (PFTPs). Firstof all, IPT and concept of network-boud PFTPs are briefly presented. Then, following phenomena that influence compliance of PFTPs with unified symmetry, are discussed: location of crossing stations on single-track lines, line sections with higher gradients, and choice of the overtaking station for freight trains. A case study, where PFTPs in Prague node area were constructed on the basis of Czech passenger timetable 2009/2010. Resulting PFTPs are discussed from symmetry point of view.
