Original language description
The oxide layers of Zr1Nb and Zry 4 W alloys were investigated by means of XRD method. The residual stresses and crystallite size D were determined for the ground and original surfaces of oxide layers. It can be concluded from results of measurements that the mechanical properties of oxides are different for alloys under investigation. Thus the comparative XRD study enables to find out the qualitative differences between the mechanical properties of materials even if the conventional mechanical tests are impossible because the nature of the materials investigated.
