DETERMINING RADIOACTIVE AEROSOL CONCENTRATIONS USING A SURFACE RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION MEASUREMENT DEVICE
Original language description
For our experiments in the aerosol chamber, it is desirable to know the activity of radioactive aerosols applied to the chamber. For this purpose was purchased a COLIBRI TTC survey meter with a SABG-15+ probe (Canberra, USA), which is designed for measuring surface contamination. This probe is used to measure activity of aerosols deposited on the filters during the experiments in the aerosol chamber. Since the probe is calibrated in different geometry, the probe response in our experimental geometry wassimulated by Monte Carlo method. The Monte Carlo model of the probe using the MCNPX and experimental verification of this model are presented. Consequently the initial results of experimental measurement in our aerosol chamber are presented.
