Study of Thin Films of LiNbO3 Using FTIR Spectroscopy
Original language description
Lithium niobate LiNbO3 is a material which can be used in many applications including waveguide lasers, and nonlinear optics. One of the methods used to characterize this material is Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). In this paper we reportFTIR measurement results of LiNbO3 layers prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition method. The SiO2/Si and sapphire (0001) was used as substrates. Films were created at substrate temperatures 650°C, 700°C, 750°C and thickness of ~680 nanometers. FTIR spectrometer is based on absorption of infrared radiation and the interference process is implemented instead of classical dispersion method. The spectral region is frequently set to 4000-400 cm-1
