SpO2 Histograms - Valuable Tools for Assessing Oxygen Saturation Stability of Newborns
Original language description
Pulse oximeters are essential devices used in neonatology for non-invasive monitoring of neonatal vital signs. In this group of patients it is essential to monitor the SPO2 parameter, which cannot be low or unphysiologically high. Pulse oximeters commonly provide insight into the so-called SpO2 trend data, which is the SpO2 curve over time. If a patient is evaluated based only on trend values, certain situations may be missed. This paper presents a software tool to process the trends into so-called histograms, which summarize the data and present them more clearly.
