The theory of structural reliability has become a powerful scientific tool usef for the development of new standards and for the direct verification of new and existing structures.The recently revised national and international standards for structural design have been systematically based on probabilistic concepts, mathematical statistics and on the theory of structural reliability. The scientific bases provided by the First Order Reliability Methods (FORM) are used in development of new and in foreseen revisions of current structural codes.
