Original language description
The aim of the article is focused on better understanding of stress inside the sandwich composite structure. This type of structure is composed of two or more layers having different material and mechanical properties. Abrupt change of these properties causes interlaminar stress in structure. A good knowledge about behavior of sandwich structure is important for efficient manufacture techniques, long-term prediction of behavior and for economics. The experimental test specimen has been made from three layers. Outer layers have been made from epoxy-resin-impregnated glass laminates with plain weave. The light weight foam Divinycell H100 was used as sandwich core. To study stress inside the sandwich composite structure, a three point bending test has been chosen. Two fiber-optic strain gauges, SOFO SMARTape Compact deformation sensors, have been used for measurement of total strain in sandwich composite structure.
