The determinatin of total phenolic compounds in cornellian cherry
Original language description
In this present study, in 11 different cultivars of Cornellian cherry (Cornus mas L.) (including: Lukjanovský, Fruchtal, Vydubecký, Elegantnyj, Vyšegorodský, Ruzyňský, Olomoucký, Devín, Titus, Sejanec Gruševidnovo and Gruševidnyj) the total phenolic compounds were measured by using Folin-Ciocalteu spectrophotometric method (FCM). The results indicated that the total phenolic compound content in Cornellian cherry were found to range from 2.5 mg GA.g-1 FM to 5.79 mg GA.g-1 fresh mass. Also, the highest content of phenolic compounds was found in Gruševidnyj while the lowest content was in Elegantnyj cultivar. Cornellian cherry population is an extremely rich source of phenolic compounds, demonstrating its potential use as for a food additive.
