This paper analyzes the organizational culture of the Roman Catholic Church in Czech Republic and Slovakia, with the main aim to understand what the factors of its long-term existence are, and make conclusions on application of these factors for the business and non-profit organizations, with special reference to the organizations of the Eastern Europe. The empirical research of organizational culture combines qualitative and quantitative methods. The main factors contributing to the ability of organizations to meet challenges of changing economies are adaptation to environment and sustainability through preserving the core values. The sustainability and adaptability are ensured by leadership, explicitly divided in church into values-based and goals-based; and system of training, which transfers values of organizational culture from generation to generation
