The crucial problem of almost all real control applications is an uncertainty, caused for example by imperfections and simplifications in modelling, changes in physical parameters or various operational conditions. And it is just robust control which tries to solve this problem and overcome the uncertainty using the one cheap and secure off-line controller with fixed parameters. The lecture was focused mainly on explanation of basic ideas of robust control, subsequently with emphasis on analysis and synthesis of continuous-time control systems with parametric uncertainty. The presentation was supplemented with an array of illustrative examples.

Zásadním problémem téměř všech reálných aplikací řízení je neurčitost, která může být způsobena mnoha faktory. A je to právě robustní řízení, které se snaží vyřešit tento úkol a "překonat" neurčitost s použitím jednoho levného a bezpečného off-line regulátoru s pevnými parametry. Přednáška se zabývala převážně objasněním základních myšlenek robustního řízení a následně se koncentrovala na analýzu a syntézu spojitých systémů řízení za přítomnosti parametrické neurčitosti. Prezentace byla doplněna celou řadou ilustrativních příkladů.
