Methodic of preservation of cultural heritage items - optimalisation of conditions with the target of long-term sustainibility

Anotace anglicky

The aim of the project consists in the preparation of the methodologies for optimal long term preservation of movable cultural heritage of collection institutions and cultural heritage monuments. The intention is to evaluate existing technologies and systems of protection of this heritage from the perspective of preventive conservation and to propose optimization. The attention will be focused on the low-cost energy processes of movable cultural heritage storage. The methodology will be formulated on the basis of an evaluation of the specific museum buildings and cultural monuments, and then their database including evaluated codes will be created. The project includes an experimental part with the verification of selected parameters of the environment of the measurement techniques and methods of its regulation. For the measurement of parameters of the environment and the possibility of their regulation the existing systems will be examined experimentally, so far not to apply procedures in our condition. This is the so-called heating method of conservation, which will be in terms of efficiency and in terms of energy consumption compared with existing control systems. Also compared the efficiency and energy intensity of the system, which is governed by the sorption isotherm, which is provided as a control system with low operating costs. The object of interest is the question of air flow in air-conditioned buildings and the issue of insufficient air flow in the sights without functional spiracles, including hot-air heating, which is out of operation. In this area will be used modern methods of measurement of air movement on the basis of the simulated distribution of climatic parameters. The design of modern methods of environmental regulation will cover opportunities to minimize energy consumption and in the case of monuments a minimizing of intervention. Methodologies will include instructions for optimal storage and handling of objects, also as teaching material.

Zhodnocení výsledků projektu

Záměrem projektu bylo zpracování dvou metodik, které doporučí vhodné postupy pro preventivní péči a pro dlouhodobé uchování movitých předmětů ve všech typech tzv. paměťových institucí. Projekt stanovené cíle splnil, byly uplatněny všechny plánované hlavní výsledky a 7 z 8 plánovaných vedlejších výsledků projektu (tj. 91 %)
