Splendor and Glory of Kingdom of Bohemia. Roots of the Czech State and National Identity.

Anotace anglicky

The main goal of the project is to create a synthetic view of cultural aspects of establishment and development of the Czech state, its integration in the European framework, reflecting culturally-historical roots of the today's state and national identity. The aim of the project is - within the assignment- to make the cultural heritage values available to a broader community of users and people interested in the use of results from the research in education based on exploration of historical and cultural roots of the national identity and culture. Through the knowledge and informational potential increased due to the research, to contribute to implementation of the results in practice, with the aim to enhance the perception of the codes of the national and cultural identity. The Czech princes and kings' court not only was the centre of the power, but also played an important role in the field of culture. During the centuries, rulers were the most significant fund-donors and orderers of artwork. The subject-matter of the research will be mainly the works of art which were created on the ruler's order. The high artistic and aesthetic quality of the works greatly supported the social position of the rulers. The artistic pieces fundamentally contributed to the fame and glamour of the royal grandeur. The improvement and interpretation of the social role of the architecture and artwork will be among important goals of the project. Preparation of outputs and publications will be preceded by extensive field research work, which will be connected with making necessary photographic documentation and processing it so that it may be available to the public. Thus the project will contribute to preserving and presenting of the cultural heritage. Among inseparable elements of the project is research work in the field of foreign relationships and related documentation. The specific partial results arising from the work will be published in journals.

Cílem projektu bylo vytvoření syntetického pohledu na kulturní aspekty vzniku a vývoje českého státu, na jeho začlenění do evropského rámce, na kulturně-historické kořeny dnešní státní a národní identity a zpřístupnění hodnot kulturního dědictví široké obci zájemců a uživatelů. Cíle projektu byly splněny a jeho hlavním výsledkem je Nmap „Královské dílo“ - jde o soubor interaktivních map s historickým obsahem využitelných k didaktickým účelům na všech stupních školského systému (http://kralovskedilo.cz).
