Identification, Interpretation and Typology of the Material Structure of Garden Art Monuments

Anotace anglicky

The main goal of the project is conceiving important tools and methodological procedures at the field of garden art monuments. These are necessary for the effective management process of the parts of the Czech cultural heritage, for which they have not been properly processed yet. The project is specifically focused on the material structure elements of garden art monuments, both artificial and natural. There are some basic identification and documentation tools still missing in this area and that is one of the reasons for the imperfect data records, heritage values identification and communication these values. These facts make the garden art monuments an endangered and easily vulnerable part of the current monument fund. The project follows the main thematic priority: Identification of cultural values of the landscape in order to preserve the legacy of Czech garden art and landscape architecture, to specify development strategies and the care plan for historical gardens and important objects of landscape architecture. It develops the care and protection of the most endangered typological groups of the national built cultural heritage. The project will include nationwide identification and basic documentation of selected material structure elements of garden art monuments. According to the findings, important tools will be conceived for their better evidence (specialized dictionary), systematic preservation (special content maps, methodology) and the use of cultural industry (specialized open database). The multi-layered interpretation of the obtained data will enable to place this issue into the national and broader European context as well as its presentation within this cultural region (exhibitions, professional monograph). The goal of the project is to describe the methods and conceive effective application tools enabling effective and professional care for a selected part of the monument fund of the Czech Republic and its public use.
