Improving schematics of Doctoral student grant competition and their pilot implementation

Anotace anglicky

1) Newly set the scheme of the student grant competition to enable many students to gain experience both in the position of the main researcher and in the position of other members of the research team, in order for these students to gain fundamental experience with grant project management and be able to use them in other grant opportunities outside the university. PhD students will be able to compile and submit a student grant through a new web application after completing the seminar for project promoters. 2) In order to motivate doctoral students in Czech programs to use the English language as a necessary basic tool in most other grant competitions, project applications will be submitted in English. This will create a precondition for better preparation for participation in other grant competitions. At the same time, the submission of projects in English will be an opportunity for foreign doctoral students studying in existing and forthcoming English programs, who due to the language barrier could participate in the competition only indirectly as part of teams, but not as principals. These changes should subsequently increase the overall attractiveness of studying in English programs at UP, and thus increase the degree of internationalization. 3) To implement educational activities beyond the study program, which will further enable students to gain an overview of organizational skills, project management skills, budget planning and other cross-sectional skills necessary to work in science and research.
