The main goal of the project is to use the results of applied research of biological and biochemical effects of Pythium oligandrum on fungal diseases of the mouth and vaginal system and inclusion of Pythium oligandrum or its propagules or some metabolites in the list of permitted active substances and formulate products prepared for clinical trials before subsequent marketing form against fungal diseases of this type. The aim of the project is to investigate the effects of Pythium oligandrum on the suppression of microbiological imbalance in the oral cavity and vulvo-vaginal area. A typical negative manifestation of these imbalances are yeast or bacterial infections, which are manifested in the oral cavity by increased tooth decay, gingivitis and / or periodontal disease. Yeast infections are a typical manifestation in the vulvo-vaginal area. These health problems are very common in the population and difficult to treat therapeutically. Moreover, it is not uncommon for these health problems to manifest themselves not only in the physical but also in the mental area, as sick people often cause considerable problems in their daily lives.
