Research of Excellence on Digital Technologies and Wellbeing

Anotace anglicky

The goal of the project is to research and develop way of using ICT safely to improve wellbeing. This includes the identification of determinants of risks and impacts of ICT on wellbeing, the development and application of innovative research and intervention methods, and the development of resources to enable the building of a research infrastructure for the collection and dissemination of population data related to wellbeing. The objectives will also lead to the development of a range of preventive and intervention programs and will lead to applicable outputs including theoretically and empirically validated methodologies, optimized and secure interfaces/applications for the collection, the acquisition, display and dissemination of population data for use in health, education and environmental policy making, and tools for the personalization of digital interventions to improve their effectiveness, user engagement and reach/use among disadvantaged populations. The DigiWELL project plans to apply its results in cooperation with ICT companies (eHealth/mHealth) that will work together to test and develop various eHealth tools (e.g., mobile apps, hardware in the form of biosensors, possibly robots) and government and non-profit organizations that are important stakeholders in the field of ICT and wellbeing (e.g., Ministry of Education, Digikoalice, Replug, Podané ruce and others). Another goal of the project is to raise the level of Czech psychology and social science research, which are not yet world-class. There will be strengthened scientific teams in 8 Czech institutions, created synergies among them, newly strengthened the collaboration of social scientists, computer scientists and statisticians, strengthened the international dimension of all teams and collaboration with foreign institutions. There will be trained young scientists who will have the opportunity to work in international teams and benefit from knowledge of experts across the entire project.
