Production of resources for breeding wheat for low-input systems

Anotace anglicky

Project to be solved by the Research Institute of Crop Production, Prague-Ruzyně and the Breeding Company SELGEN a.s. is aimed at producing new wheat resources (advanced breeding lines) with improved resistance to fungus diseases, with effective reactionto lowered inputs and desirable grain quality. The choice of suitable genetic resources, production of hybrid materials and selection for grain quality parameters, yielding ability and resistance to fungus diseases under artificial infection and in the absence of fungicide and growth regulator treatment are the main methodical approaches. Besides the production of breeding resources for "low input" systems, this research project may also guarantee to obtain results that will help to increase efficiencyof selection for resistance to diseases (mainly to head blight - Fusarium ssp. and to Septoria diseases - Septoria tritici and Septoria nodorum). Je vysoce hodnocena těsná spolupráce výzkumné organizace (VÚRV) a šlechtitelské firmy (Selgen). Získané poznatky (jak metodického charakteru, tak hmotných výstupů) jsou využitelné v období 2001 - 2005 při tvorbě nových, konkurenceschopných genotypů.
