Research and development of advanced thermal and acoustic insulation materials based on waste textile and natural fibers

Anotace anglicky

The goal the project is the development of advanced thermal insulating and sound absorbing materials based on waste textile and natural fibres and subsequent research of their properties. It will concern materials based on natural and synthetic fibers obtained from textile and textile production and later bonded into mats. These thermal insulation materials will have good utility properties comparable with those of thermal insulation and soundproofing materials commonly available on the construction market, such as polystyrene and mineral wool. Specifically, it will concern the development of: • Insulation materials designed for lightweight partition walls. These insulation materials will emphasise primary acoustic properties, material stability in lightweight partition walls and in component buildings. • Insulation materials for building envelopes. It will concern insulation materials applicable in home and industrial construction. Emphasis will be put mainly on the thermal insulation properties and, in the case of insulation materials for industrial construction, also acoustic properties and marital stability in tall structures. • Insulation materials for the soundproofing of outdoor structures. It will concern the acoustic insulation of outside facilities, power generators and other noise-producing devices installed in the exterior. • Insulation materials for the insulation of horizontal structures (floor insulation). It will concern mainly the insulation of lightweight floor structures emphasising the lowest possible value of dynamic stiffness at optimum compressibility.
