The Bohemian Crown in the Conception of the Bohemian Estates on the Threshold of the Early Modern Period

Anotace anglicky

Political emancipation of the Bohemian estates intensified at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. They redefined their attitudes towards the king, acting as protectors of the land rights and integrity of the Bohemian Crown. The estates had a tool with an important role in the historical-legal argumentation - a registry of documents in the Crown Archive that the Bohemian estates compiled and gave to the king (1501). Registrum deseti truhlic is a Czech-written registry of documents with a dedication preface. Its origin (with work on the land code and composition of the compilation commission), its translation into German and many copies show the significance that the estates attributed it. Oddly, this document has not yet attracted attention of the historians. The project returns to the Registrum, puts it into context with the political programme of the Bohemian estates and development of the Crown estates with an overlap into the neighbouring lands. The publication of the Registrum is important to historians, legal historians, linguists, Bohemists and Germanists.
