Anotace anglicky

The aim of the large-scale qualitative project is to explore the psychosocial processes through which highly productive researchers, institutional leaders, and evaluators of funding bodies collaboratively produce “excellent research” at Czech research institutions. The project will focus on: 1) motivational, behavioral and social/organizational determinants of individual agency in highly productive researchers to develop their cognitive, community and organizational research careers; 2) how leaders of research institutions shape organizational cultures that are supportive or hindering of the research productivity of individual researchers; and 3) which criteria members of evaluation panels use in their decisions about research funding to discursively construct “research excellence” through peer review. As the main outcome, we will integrate these three objectives into a unified theory that explains how these actors and processes interact and collectively produce a “cumulative dis/advantage” for individual researchers, research institutions, and the entire Czech research environment.
