The fundamental idea behind this interdisciplinary project is to critically synthesize the existing research in the field of Neo-Latin studies and elaborate in theory on the understanding of genological differentiation of Latin literature in the period of Renaissance and Baroque Humanism in the Czech lands. In addition to eight theoretical foreign-language studies, the main output is going to be a representative academic anthology (1st issue before 1620, 2nd issue after 1620). Having the form of commented Latin-Czech edition, the aim of this anthology is to map more than 75 samples of the main genre areas of the Neo-Latin artistic literature from the late 15th to the mid-18th century in the territory of today's Czech Republic, based on the classic trichotomic categorization of types of literature. Extensive introductions to the genre area chapters are going to characterize the genres also from theoretical perspectives, including their transformation over the period of the whole early modern era and concerning the (Central) European context and vernacular production.
