Anotace anglicky
Physiological molecular response of lung cells to factors evoking cell stress and tissue damage is critical for full regeneration of lung parenchyma. The abnormal cell stress response can deteriorate the fine architecture of lung tissue, induce fibrotization and scarification, and cause loss of pulmonary functions. Investigation of mechanisms driving cell stress response and tissue regeneration can thus contribute to better understanding and modeling of etiopathogenesis of lung diseases, to advance lung tissue engineering, as well as to enhance pharmacological and bio-industrial applications. In this project we will use a new unique in vitro model of expandable lung-like epithelial cells (ELEPs), derived from pluripotent stem cells, to reveal dynamics of differentiation of various functional epithelial cells of lung tissues, and elucidation of molecular mechanisms coupled with endoplasmic reticulum regulating cell stress response in differentiation of functional lung epithelial cells.
