Anotace anglicky

The project focuses on the parallel reflections of the collapse of the Yugoslavia in the Czech environment and the demise of Czechoslovakia in the Croatian setting. Despite some partial studies, there is still a lack of a comprehensive and source-based analysis of how the perception of the disintegration of the one´s own federal state was intertwined with the parallel and closely monitored disintegration of Yugoslavia and respectively Czechoslovakia in the Czech and Croatian debates. The project does not only focus on public debates, but thanks to newly available documents of institutional and personal provenance, it also traces this process in terms of political, social and intellectual interactions. The time frame is defined by the years 1989/1990-1995, i.e. from the collapse of the state socialist regimes to the moment when the end of the conflict in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina brings to a close one phase of the wars that accompanied the break-up of the Yugoslav federation.
