Anotace anglicky

This project investigates cognitive aesthetics through the lens of Susanne K. Langer's aesthetic theory, focusing on the exploration of various art forms as "signs" of the development of human mind, on the place of this investigation within Langer’s philosophy, and its relevance for contemporary debates in cognitive aesthetics and the theory of art forms. The project aims to posit that exploration of art forms helped Langer to establish a unique framework for understanding the evolution of society and individual consciousness. While Langer's aesthetics historically held prominence, contemporary Langer scholarship often emphasizes other dimensions of her thought. This research seeks to underscore the significance of Langer's exploration of art forms within her broader philosophical framework, as well as to elucidate her nuanced cognitivism within the context of contemporary cognitive aesthetics and theory of art.
