Anotace anglicky

The project is based on the concept of temporality, to which so far only minimal attention has been devoted in research on the development of Czech society in the normalisation period. The structuring of time is one of the key elements determining the shape of everyday life and lifestyle of this period. Against the background of the basic structures of time rhythms and cycles, the research will focus in particular on: 1. rhythms specific to this epoch and the mechanism of their origin; 2. one-off or more significant disruptions to the rhythm; 3. the continuity of rhythms with previous development. The study of temporalities is rooted in cultural and social history, media history, and emphasis will be placed on comparison with other Central European countries. Archival and printed sources will be used, and oral history method will be extensively applied. The project will develop and significantly enhance the existing research by the applicant and co-applicant, especially as regards the continuity and discontinuity of cultural traditions. The main output will be a collective monograph.
