Anotace anglicky

The Project is dedicated to the transformations of social elite classes in the course of the process of modernisation, focusing upon nobility in the Czech Lands, 1749-1948. The Project involves an establishment of a task force of historians specialisingin this area and approaching the subject from various perspectives. Major topics shall include the transformation of political and social thinking, transformation of nobility as a social group, transformation of its economic strategies, and participationof nobility in significant processes which formed part of the modernisation of both the state and the society (bureaucratisation, change of identity, civil society, etc.). History students shall be involved in the work within the Project by means of specialised lectures and seminars. The results of the research shall be published in two collections and presented at five workshops, and reflected in the teaching process.
